Can we still call them fries if they aren’t fried? Or are they french baked potatoes? That sounds like something totally different…. Anyway, these are super simple and very tasty, no matter what you want to call them.
This seriously couldn’t be more simple. We really just cut some potatoes, arranged them carefully so they don’t touch on parchment paper, and baked them in the oven.
They could have been more complicated, and even more delicious, if we spiced them up a bit, but for this round we wanted to keep them super basic. Feel free to experiment with your own though, add some garlic or onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, or mix up a seasoning blend. Treat them like a blank canvas, and the sky is the limit!

- 6 yukon gold potatoes
- Preheat oven to 425
- Slice the potatoes into fries, using a mandolin or a sharp knife
- Arrange in a single layer on a parchment paper lined baking sheet being careful not to let them touch.
- Sprinkle with any salt free dry seasonings you like (optional)
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown
I am VERY careful to make sure they are lined up and not touching each other. It’s just the way I am, unfortunately… 🙂 Don’t worry about those on the bottom left, I can assure you they are not touching.
The come out golden brown and crispy on the outside!
